    Nathan Kroeker serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Spark Energy and is a member of the company’s Board of Directors.  He was appointed as President in April 2012 and appointed as Chief Executive Officer prior to the close of the company’s IPO in April 2014.

    Nathan joined the company in July 2010 as Chief Financial Officer of Spark Energy and Marlin Midstream Partners, LP, an affiliated midstream energy company.  Prior to joining Spark Energy, he was Senior Vice President, Finance from December 2009 to July 2010 for Macquarie Energy, the global energy supply, trading and logistics division of Macquarie Bank.  He also served as Chief Financial Officer from March 2004 until March 2006 for the retail and wholesale businesses of Direct Energy, the North American subsidiary of Centrica.  He has over 20 years of experience in retail and wholesale energy, M&A and public accounting.  Nathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a licensed Chartered Accountant in Canada. 

    Nathan is a national trustee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and formerly served as a board member for the Texas Diversity Council, where he received the Diversity First Award.  He is actively involved in the community with several organizations, including Helping a Hero, Lemonade Day and Child Advocates.  Nathan is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities with his wife and 3 children.

      Robert Lane became Chief Financial Officer of the Company in June of 2016. Robert is a seasoned financial executive with 22 years of finance and accounting experience in the energy industry. In his role at Spark Energy, he is responsible for corporate financial reporting, risk management, accounting, financial planning & analysis, treasury, investor relations, tax and internal controls.
      Prior to joining Spark Energy, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for Emerge Energy Services LP from November 2012 to June 2015.  Prior to joining Emerge, he was an equity research analyst and an investment banker with Sanders Morris Harris and its affiliates from November 2004 through December 2011 and later with Global Hunter Securities. He began his finance career in Smith Barney’s Global Energy and Power Group.
      Robert holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an Artium Baccalaureus degree from Princeton University; he a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

        Jason Garrett serves as Executive Vice President, Spark Retail, a position he commenced July 2015. Jason is responsible for the overall Spark performance across its multiple retail brands. Jason is a 20-year veteran of the energy industry and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
        Prior to joining Spark Energy, Jason held leadership positions within the deregulated energy segment at companies such as Just Energy as SVP/GM and SouthStar Energy. Jason has a proven track record of identifying process improvements to eliminate waste in areas such as customer service, sales and marketing, back office operations and call center management resulting in bottom line financial savings.
        Jason graduated from the University of New Orleans with a degree in Finance and an MBA.


        • Alexis Keene

          C. Alexis Keene serves as the Interim General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Spark Energy overseeing all legal, regulatory and compliance matters. Alexis was appointed Interim General Counsel on January 1, 2019, after serving as Spark Energy’s Deputy General Counsel and Head of Compliance. Prior to rejoining the Company in late 2018, Alexis served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of EDF Energy Services, LLC from January 2017.

          Alexis initially joined Spark Energy in 2014 as Deputy General Counsel. Prior to 2014, Alexis held several general counsel and senior leadership positions in the energy industry and spent 12 years at HP/Compaq as Director and Division general counsel for two of HP’s multi-billion dollar divisions. Previously, Alexis was a Senior Associate at Porter & Hedges LLP, where she engaged in a corporate securities practice. Alexis started her career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the US. Audit and Assurance services group. She has over 24 years of legal experience in the energy and tech industries.

          Alexis holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin; she is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.
